i placed an order with fresh direct, the grocery delivery service here. and it arrived today. in boxes. carried to my kitchen by a delivery man. the bananas were lovingly wrapped in foam sheeting. each bag of produce was closed with a sticker which read "packaged for jesse floyd." the bag of garlic? packaged for jesse floyd. the tub of scallops? prepared for jesse floyd. the tomatoes were delivered in their own carton, and were perfectly ripe. seriously, the tomatoes were like a trio of ripe baby jesuses. the gospel of lycopene. and since fresh direct is such a clever little enterprise, i completely fell for their advertised special: the smores kit. and i am going to have to post a picture because it is just that clever. it came in a little box, and with foil and skewers.



with everything delivered and at my disposal, i cooked dinner. scallops/snow peas/red peppers sauteed with ginger/garlic/apple juice/green onion. and served over brown rice, with a little sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds. the apple juice was suprisingly effective.
